Jeroen leads a small but ambitious centre of expertise on environmental determinants of physical activity, dietary behaviours and chronic disease risk in adults: 'the Upstream Team'.
In various European and National projects his focus of research is on the individual and environmental determinants of lifestyle behaviours and chronic disease risk; in particular how they can be measured, how they interact and how they can be changed.
Next to doing research, coordination and management he supervises PhD students, is editorial board member of the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, and executive board member of the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity. Jeroen likes to race on his road bike and run whenever he can, which is not very often.
